This online course features experienced teacher and national presenter, Kristin Burke as she shares strategies and techniques to increase students' mindfulness. The course provides an overview of mindfulness, mindful activities and how to best introduce it to students. It also includes practical strategies and techniques on how to improve student's behavior by implementing easy-to-adapt mindful practices. There is also a focus on breathing techniques – how to practice simple but extremely effective breathing techniques to help students reduce their anxiety and increase their learning. Finally, the course concludes by highlighting movement, its importance, and provides dozens of movement strategies to help students stay focused and maximize their learning. You have up to 90 days to complete your course.
The course is designed to take at least 5-6 hours if you watch all video clips, complete all review activities, read supporting documents, and create your personal Action Plan. Times will vary, as some people may move more quickly through the course, and others may want to watch modules multiple times. The course can be stopped and started at your own discretion, with the course resuming where you left off. You may also choose to re-start the course at the beginning.

This course is an on demand, video-based online course. Unlike many other courses, you will see activities and strategies in action, modeled by real educators in real classroom settings. Since the course is on demand, you can control when and where you take the course, as well as how much time you spend on it each time you log on. The course includes a Personal Action Plan- a document you will create to help you implement any strategies and ideas you select into your own program. You’fll also find supporting documents to download, save or print.
