This online course features Beatrice Moore, a former board member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), developer and trainer for the Mathematics for English Language Learners (MELL) project, and author of several math textbooks. The course is divided into three modules. In the first module, Beatrice introduces the course and provides strategies for reducing students' math anxiety and improving their confidence and ability to discuss math. The second module offers strategies for improving students' math vocabulary, and the course concludes with strategies for teaching word problems to English Language Learners. Supplementary print and digital resources are included.
